Masks required,

Given the rampant spread of Covid through the new omicron variant (see this morning’s Winchester Star), our Healthy Church Team met last night, and we have made the following changes to our policy:

  • Masks are required to be worn on site at all times (unless you are by yourself in a room), vaccinated or not. This includes worship and small group settings.
  • Safe distance will be maintained from those not in the same household.
  • Maximum room capacity will be posted on meeting rooms in order to allow for social distancing.
  • Nursery will not be provided until further notice.
  • Any food will continue to be prepared beforehand and served to individuals. Now we ask that serving and consuming of food be done only in the Fellowship Hall. As people eat without masks, the Fellowship Hall allows more spacing and better air circulation than smaller spaces.

Worship will continue in the Sanctuary each Sunday at 8:45, 10:00, and 11:15 AM. It will also continue to be available on Facebook Live at 10:00 and 11:15 for those who don’t feel comfortable gathering with others.

Small groups will decide for themselves whether to continue to gather in person or online. Small groups may also consider to gather in person and make it possible for some to be present online as well.
Hopefully, the omicron variant will pass quickly. Your safety is our imperative. To our knowledge, no one has contracted Covid in our worship services or small groups. There have been cases of spread in our daycare and preschool. A large number of our church family have told us that they have contracted Covid recently from other sources.
Let’s stay safe: get vaccinated if you can, follow CDC and health department guidelines wherever you are. And please pray for our healthcare community! They are under a great deal of strain!
