Margie Hernandez is a proud Cuban-American who has been a pharmacist since 1992. She is an active member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church and is committed to promoting social justice for all, particularly within the Latino community. She sits on the board of directors for Frederick County Department of Social Services and on the board of Just Neighbors, a non-profit that provides legal representation for low-income immigrants, asylees and refugees. Margie is also the Vice Chair on the board of directors of the Sinclair Free Clinic where they are dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care to people who are uninsured and underinsured while creating connections and removing barriers to promote the overall wellbeing of their patients. As a leader of Construyendo Puentes (Building Bridges) at Braddock Street UMC in Winchester, Margie works with local nonprofits such as Just Neighbors, Literacy Volunteers of the Winchester Area, Leyendo Juntos, and Arte Libre. Together with these organizations Building Bridges seeks to empower, nurture, and educate families in the Latino Community. Margie is the Director of Latino Ministries at Braddock Street UMC where she seeks to empower the Latino community through education and hope. In her spare time, Margie enjoys bird watching, gardening, reading, and a daily afternoon cafécito.
